Dr. Brent Thomas Tucker passed away on May 20, 2024 while living overseas in Bahrain. Born November 17, 1959, in Savannah, Tenn., to John Thomas Tucker and Martha Carroll Dupree, he grew up in Michie,Tenn. He was a graduate of McNairy Central. He lived a vibrant life marked by kindness, wit, patience and a strong dedication to helping others.
Dr. Tucker led a distinguished career in counseling psychology, earning a doctorate degree from Indiana State University. He guided countless people towards healing and growth, especially children. He taught Counseling Psychology at Troy University in Dothan, Alabama while maintaining his private practice. He was also a preacher in the Methodist faith in Mississippi, Illinois, Indiana and on occasion in Alabama. Despite his quiet demeanor, his impact was profound, and his legacy of kindness and generosity echoes on.
An avid equestrian, he cherished horseback riding and watching horse competitions. Any place where horses roamed was his ideal vacation spot, although he also enjoyed trips to visit other cultures; including Havana, Cuba; Montreal, Canada; Tipperary, Ireland; Manama, Bahrain, and most recently Rome and Naples, Italy.
Dr. Tucker appreciated the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed home-made biscuits, and anything cooked by his mother. In his free time, he enjoyed the company of friends over a friendly game of cards or dominoes. A lifelong fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, he cheerfully supported his team every season.
He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Claudia Ford Tucker. He also leaves behind his caring mother, Martha Dupree; his supportive sister, Cynthia Choate; and brother-in-law, Brian Choate. He will be missed by his in-laws Patrick James Ford, Dorothy Caron Ford, Robert John Ford, Dominick Anthony Russo, Jr., Gay Ford, and Adee Heebe-Russo. He was predeceased by his father, John Thomas Tucker; step-father, James P. Dupree; and his beloved niece, Kristin Troutt. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Dr. Brent Tucker was a beacon of kindness, patience, and wisdom. His life's work and personal attributes have touched many and will continue to inspire those who knew him. His memory will forever remain in our hearts.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, June 15th at Lebanon Church, 250 Chamber Store Road in Michie, TN with visitation from 12 noon – 2 pm, followed by a Memorial Service.

I remember Brent come growing up with him at Michie School on into McNairy Central High School. I remember him being a very kind considerate person, he will be missed.
