Services to celebrate the life of Larry Childers, 79, will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at noon. A gathering of family and friends was Tuesday evening from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home.
Larry passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born on January 22, 1946 in Booneville to the late Atkins and Edna Trantham Childers. He was a graduate of Wheeler High School and furthered his education at Northeast Community College; he played basketball for both schools. In his personal life, Larry enjoyed sketching and drawing. He was fond of shopping, but above all, he was a car enthusiast who loved cars of all kinds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Childers (Nikki) and Danny Childers (Betty); and sister, Moann Hughes (Homer).
Larry is survived by his longtime companion, Kent Broussard of Corinth; daughters, Laura Nussbaum (Joe) of Dallas, and Honey Brooks (Johnny George) of Booneville; grandchildren, Grant Brooks and Newt George; great-grandchild, Burley Brooks; sister, Carra Jo Blythe of Iuka; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
