Funeral services for Leonard Smith, 71, of Rienzi are set for Sunday, October 20, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home – SOUTH on HWY 45 South with interment in Juliette Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, October 20, 2024 from noon-2 p.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home -SOUTH. Bro. Jamie Basden and Bro. Corey Burcham will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Eric Smith, Richard Smith, Lonnie Smith, Tom Smith, Danny Rowsey and Tyler Alexander. Honorary pallbearer will be Lance Corporal Ethan Finkle.
Born January 11, 1953 in Corinth, Mr. Smith passed from this life on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at his home. Leonard was a retired factory worker with 25 years service at ITT and he was of the Pentecostal faith. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, cooking out and having family get togethers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Magnolia Classic Car Club.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Basden Smith; daughters, Anna Marie Finkle (Eddie) and Rebecca Ann Ligon (Edward); 4 grandchildren, Tyler Alexander, Michalia Finkle, Lance Corporal Ethan Finkle and Jasmine Ligon; brothers, Richard Smith (Tracy), Tom Smith (Leigh Ann) and Lonnie Smith (Mary); other relatives and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Doug Smith; mother, Mildred Smith and his brothers, Carol Smith and Jimmy Smith.
