Marcus Edwin Brewster, Jr., 74, died on May 11, 2024. Marcus was born in Corinth, on February 9, 1950 to Marcus Edwin Brewster, Sr. and Shirley Reynolds Brewster who proceeded him in death.
Marcus is survived by his wife of 54 years Paula Spears Brewster, his two children Marcus Edwin Brewster, III (Meme); and Kelly Brewster Gray (Brent); his 7 grandchildren, Griffin, Coleman, Frances, Abby, Wells, Claire and Lauren; a sister, Marcia Rhodes and numerous nephews and nieces.
Marcus was raised in Corinth and attended Corinth High School where he graduated in 1968. He also attended the University of Mississippi. He worked as a real estate appraiser in various capacities throughout his life that included stints in the city of Corinth's tax assessor's office and finally, through most of his professional career as owner of Brewster Appraisal. Marcus and Paula moved to Mobile, Ala. in 2004 to be closer to their children. Here he worked briefly as an appraiser before retiring in 2018. Marcus loved the outdoors including target shooting, fishing, hunting and restoring classic boats and cars throughout his life. In his last years Marcus' primary interest was spending time with his beloved wife and family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. The family will be holding a private celebration of life. Arrangements are by Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
