A service to celebrate the life of Mike Gunn, 67, will be held at 2 pm on August 6, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at noon and continue until service time.
Mike passed away on July 6, 2022, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Born on October 7, 1954, in West Point to Kenyon Duane Sr. and Nancy Blaylock Gunn, he graduated from Corinth High School in 1972 where he played football and was Mr. CHS. From there, he continued his education at Northeast Mississippi Community College and then at the University of Mississippi where he obtained his first degree in 1976 in Business Administration. In due time, he decided to follow in his father's footsteps and completed his Pharmacy degree in 1983, also from the University of Mississippi. Upon completion of his degree, he moved back to his hometown of Corinth and opened Gunn Drug Company, where he served as a pharmacist and the owner for 37 years. He loved the community of Corinth and spoke on more than one occasion about how being able to help so many people on a daily basis was what made his profession so rewarding. Mike was a member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf but his passion was fishing.
Survived by his wife of 43 years, Paula Gunn; mother, Nancy Gunn; daughter, Michelle Ramirez and husband Ben; son, Cliff Gunn and wife Sarah; grandchildren, Ana Ramirez, Christian Ramirez and Jackson Gunn; and sister, Pricilla Kasten and husband Mike.
He was preceded in death by his father, Duane Gunn and his brother Ken Gunn.
Bro. Dennis will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Mike to First Baptist Church of Corinth, 501 N. Main St. Corinth, MS 38834.
