Tommy McAnally, age 72, of Burnsville, Mississippi, was honored in a Celebration of Life service at 2 pm on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Family and friends were invited to the visitation on Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again on Monday, September 29, from 1 p.m. until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home – East. The service was officiated by Dr. Randy Bostick and Bro. Bobby Castille.
Pallbearers were Robert David, Tanner McAnally, Charlie McAnally, Cooper McAnally, Andy Sparks, Tyler Bobo, Michael Smith, and Liam Lambert.
Tommy was born May 2, 1953, in Paden to Burt McAnally and Helen Phifer McAnally, and he passed away at his home in Burnsville on September 25, 2025. A man of steadfast faith, Tommy was a devoted member of Oakland Baptist Church, where he once sang in the choir of the original sanctuary – a memory cherished. Tommy found joy in the simple pleasures of life: the quiet thrill of hunting, the satisfaction of restoring old cars, and cheering on his favorite teams – the St. Louis Cardinals and the Ole Miss Rebels. But above all, his heart belonged to his family. His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride, and of all the titles he held throughout his life, none meant more to him than "PawPaw." He will be remembered for his warmth, his devotion, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
Those left to honor Tommy's memory include his sons, Jacob McAnally (Crystal), and Ian McAnally; daughter, Lydia Lambert (Lyonel); grandchildren, Liam Lambert, Lily Beth Lambert, Linley Lambert, Lottie Lambert, Lila Lambert, Caitlyn Willis, Julie White (Zane), Clara Willis, and Conner Willis; great grandchildren, Oliver Hulen, Phoebe Martin, Presleigh White, and Ruby White; mother, Helen Phifer McAnally; brothers, Timmy McAnally, Tony McAnally (Tonya), Stevie McAnally (Tammy); sisters, Kathy Bobo (Vernon), Sherry Sparks (Gerry), Vickie McGee (Steve), and Connie Smith (Mike); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Burt McAnally and his nephews, Jason Bobo, Seth McGee, Zac Gant, and Josh Gant. Magnolia Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Tommy McAnally.
