Celestine S. Thomas, 87, of Lincoln Ave., Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Carmen and Concetta Gregorio Davis. Sally was a former member of the Everson Vol. Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Cindy, and a friend to all who knew her. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards and going to auctions and flea markets plus her weekly shopping trips on the senior's bus, which she helped organize its service to the elderly. Sally's memories will forever remain in the heart of her loving and devoted daughter, Cynthia A. Thomas, of Northfield, Ohio; her caregivers who assisted her in her daily routines, Tom and Joe Dombrowski, of Mt. Pleasant; and her grand-kitty, Jasmine; her son, Richard Lee Thomas; her five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Percy Thomas (Dec. 14, 1992); six brothers, Frank Davis (July 9, 2010), Joseph Davis Sr. (April 25, 2007) and three brothers in infancy; sisters, Jennie Donato, Catherine Marino, Josephine Rich (May 14, 2003) and Mary DeMichelle; and a nephew, Joseph Davis Jr., (April 25, 2007). Sally's family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Friday, at which time her funeral will begin at 1 p.m., in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, with the Rev. Jeffrey Welsh officiating. Chapel services and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.
