Mary L. Karwatsky, 85, of Connellsville, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018, at Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown.
She was born June 20, 1933, in Connellsville, the daughter of the late James and Mildred (Collins) McClure.
Mary graduated from Connellsville High School with the Class of 1951. Once she graduated, she became employed at Troutman's, where she worked for many years.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bingo, and going to the casino. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Mary is survived by her children, David Karwatsky and wife Donna of Connellsville, Shirley Pericho and husband David of North Carolina, and Kevin Karwatsky and wife Lisa of Connellsville; seven grandchildren, Kelly Thacker and husband Nick, Brian Karwatsky and wife Erin, Kristen Yoder and husband Eric, Adam Pericho, Tyler Pericho, Ashley Pericho, and Kyle Karwatsky; seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Emmalyn, Sydney, Logan, Eden, Jolene, and Harlyn; and her brother, Charles McClure of California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Karwatsky; and brothers, James McClure and Frank McClure.
Family and friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, the hour of service, in the Paul G. Fink Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville, with Pastor Michael Lyons officiating.
Interment will follow at Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville.

While I did not have the esteemed privilege of knowing Mary personally, I have known my dear friend Dave Karwatsky, so I can assuredly say that Mary's legacy is evidenced by the quality of character in the children she left behind. My family's prayers and deepest sympathies are with your family.
