Nancy J. (Franks) Swink, 79, Dawson, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born May 18, 1937, in Dawson, a daughter of the late William L. and Evelyn Ruth (Sproat) Franks, who passed away on Aug. 6, 1989, and Dec. 26, 1999, respectively.
Nancy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was employed years ago at the former Connellsville Sportswear and at Burns Drug in Connellsville. She was a lifelong member of the Phillip G. Cochran Memorial United Methodist Church in Dawson, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. Nancy enjoyed puzzles, gardening with her son Chuckie, talking on the phone with her son Michael, and listening to her granddaughter Carlie sing.
Nancy will be sadly missed by her loving family: her three children, Charles L. Keffer Jr. of Dawson, and his wife, Beverly, Sandra L. Keffer of Dawson, and Michael J. Swink of Bella Vista, Ark.; her five grandchildren, Carlie Keffer of Mars, Katlyn Swink of Springdale, Ark., Reagan Swink of Fayetteville, Ark., Nicole Piljuga of Pittsburgh and Crystal Palermo of Pittsburgh; her two great-grandchildren, Dalton Swink and Brynley Ralph-Swink; her special niece and nephews, Lonni Pyda, Derek and John Pyda, and Benjamin Morris; and several nieces, nephews and friends, whom she loved and adored.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gwendolyn Holt; her brother, William L. Franks, Jr., and her niece, Debra Pyda.
Personalized arrangements are under the professional supervision of the Ralph E. Galley Funeral Home, Railroad and Laughlin Street, Dawson.
Family and friends will be received from 9-11 a.m. today in the Phillip G. Cochran Memorial United Methodist Church, Dawson, where funeral services will follow with the Rev. Rob Rabenstein and the Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson co-officiating.
Graveside committal service and interment will follow in Dickerson Run Cemetery.
