Nellie B. Hone, 92, of Upper Hulltown, Dawson, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 22, 2021, at 1:11 p.m. surrounded by family. Nellie was born in Lower Tyrone Township on Sept. 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Washington Morris Etling and Suzanna (Rimel) Etling.
She was married to Frank Hone Jr. who passed away on Jan. 15, 1987.
Nellie was a homemaker and housekeeper who cared for other's homes until she was 80 years old.
She would like to be remembered as someone who loved the Lord and was very proud that she was a Christian. She was a member of the Scottdale Church of Christ.
Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, her three children, daughter Nancy Shaffer and husband Dale, son Frank B. Hone and special friend Josephine Halfhill, and son Jeffrey Hone, whom she resided with and cared for her; her grandchildren, Tammy Nickelson and husband Shane, Jodi Lindsay and husband Kevin, Emily McBeth and husband Thomas and Robert Hone; her great-grandchildren, Shelby Greenlee and husband Christofer "Robbie," Morgan Shipley and fiancé Matthew Gross, Haley Nickelson and special friend Neil Rozak, Skylar Hone, and Robert Hone Jr.; her great-great-grandchildren, Christofer Eli Greenlee and Vienna Rose Greenlee. Nellie was very proud of the five generations in her family and the time she got to spend with her sisters, daughter, granddaughter Emily, and her special nieces in the "Rosebud Club." Nellie is also survived by her brother, William Etling; sisters, Hazel Loretta Newell, Margaret Winemiller, Anna Mae Holland and husband James, and Sandra Ribnisky and husband George. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Glenn, Ida, Philip, and Albert Etling, Mary Ramsier, Nancy Pitts, Luneta Lape, Jennie Isabell Clark, and Naomi Cossell; and by her two special aunts, Betty Ferry and Margaret Cable.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and noon to 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Dr. Marvin Watson officiating. Chapel committal service and interment next to her late husband will follow in Dickerson Run Union Cemetery. Love Lasts Forever!
