Edward J. F. Mast, born in Woodland on April 2, 1926, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013.
Edward was a fourth generation Mast family member of Yolo County. He served as Master Mason twice of Yolo lodge No. 195 as a member for more than 50 years.
As a Farmers Insurance agent for more than 30 years, Ed earned a coveted brick on the Farmers Walk of Fame located in front of the Los Angeles Home Office for exemplary service.
Ed pursued his degree at the University of Pacific in Stockton alongside lifelong friend Justin Farmer after graduating from Esparto High School in 1944.
Ed leaves his wife Marilyn, three children and their spouses: Linda and Dennis Souza, Marcia and Glenn Scott and John Mast as well as six loving grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents Floris and Ruth Mast; and brother Walt Mast of Oakland. Ed is survived by his sister Wilma Hill of Oroville.
Ed greatly enjoyed spending time on his ranch with his cousin Virginia Neville of Sacramento.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, at Saint John's Church, 434 Cleveland St., Woodland, followed by graveside service at 2 p.m., at the Capay Cemetery, 24727 County Road 22, Esparto, with a reception following at the Yolo Fliers Country Club, 17980 County Road 94B, Woodland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in memory of Ed be sent to the Masonic Yolo Lodge No. 195, 1655 DaVinci Court, Davis, 95616, to be set aside for scholarships.
