Roger Bryson Obituary

Roger Greg "Bubby" Bryson passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022, at his home surrounded by the beautiful mountains and redwood trees of Scotia, California. Roger was born on June 29, 1950, in Yuba City, California to Edward Bacus and Zena Marie (McLean) Bryson. Roger was their 7th child and the baby or "Bubby" of the family. He attended Grafton School in Knights Landing, CA, and Woodland High School, later he earned his GED from the armed forces. Along with many of his friends, Roger enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 with a part of his service spent in Korea. After returning home, Roger worked for Western Electric and completed classes at Yuba Community College. Later, Roger worked for Sutter Mutual Water Company where he enjoyed the time outdoors emersed in the valley's rich agricultural resources. Four incredibly beloved siblings survive Roger: brother Richard Bryson of Arbuckle, brother Thomas Bryson of Yuba City, sister Patsy Moore of Woodland, and sister Judy Marchetti, of Fortuna. Roger was preceded in death by brothers Bryant Bryson and Anthony Bryson whom he loved and missed tremendously. Roger is also survived by his son, Rodney Wertman and daughter-in-law Jerusha Wertman of Aberdeen, South Dakota, a daughter, Toria Watson, and his daughter Michelle Bryson Cline and son-in-law Bert Cline of Allen, Texas. Roger's grandchildren include Neil, Steven, and Ryan of California. Mathew, Brittnee, Courtnee, Emilee, and great grandchildren Drekker & Althea of South Dakota. As well as grandchildren, Drew, and Emily of Texas.Roger has a host of incredibly special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Loved and greatly appreciated is a very dear nephew and niece Bob and Trish Brock who supported Roger for many years with their open, loving, and kind spirits. Roger held his family and many other special people near and dear to his heart. Roger was only 72 years old, yet he lived a one-of-a-kind, vibrant, and full life. He had the best laugh, a witty sense of humor, a listening ear for all, and he loved his family and friends fiercely. Family and friends are welcome to honor Roger as he is peacefully laid to rest near other beloved family members in the Knights Landing Cemetery at 11:00am on Friday, December 9th. Immediately following, all are invited to celebrate and commemorate Roger at Knights Landing Community Center (The Scout Cabin).
