A. Heckeroth Obituary

WOODSTOCK...... A. William "Bill" Heckeroth, 86, died Friday, August 25, 2023 at his home. Born in Woodstock, he was the son of Edith and Adolf Heckeroth. Adolf had a Plumbing, Heating and Electric business where Bill joined his father and ran the business until his retirement. He graduated from Kingston High School and attended the University of Alabama. Bill enjoyed living in his hometown of Woodstock. He was involved in many community projects, especially planning the arrival of Santa on the Village Green for many years. Survivors include his wife the former Linda Shay; children, Edan (Jeffry) Holmes of Walden and Charlene (Robert) Flood of Montgomery; grandchildren, Lauren, William, Annie, Michael, Brianna and Robert; great grandchildren, Hunter, Parker and Gavin; sister in law, Melanie Shay Oehmcke,brother-in-law John A. Miller and his niece Katherine Klem (Lance) and nephew John Miller of California. He also leaves behind many life- long friends including his dear friends Rolf and Mary. He was predeceased by his sister, Edie Heckeroth Miller. His Funeral Service was held Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial followed in the Woodstock Artist Cemetery. Family suggests donations in his name be made to the Woodstock Christmas Eve Committee. A memorial tribute book will be organized using photos and condolences shared with the family at SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com

Sorry to read of Bill's death. An old high school friend from the mid 1950's at Kingston High School, he was a fun person and he'll be missed by all of his family.

I know Bill wouldn't have recognized me but back in the 70's when I was new to Woodstock, he was the one to call if I needed a good, honest and fair plumber, not to mention a nice and kind person. I always thought of him when I heard the name Heckeroth. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill,s passing. I was good friends with Edie, his sister since we were young. He will be greatly missed. A true pillar of Woodstock and loved by many.
