Andrew J. Jasienowski

SAUGERTIES - Andrew Joseph "Andy" Jasienowski, 90, of Lafayette St., died Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the Greene Meadows Nursing Home. He was born in Holyoke, MA on September 8, 1931 to the late Andrew J. Sr. and Frances Jasienowski. He was honorably discharged from the US Army after serving our nation during the Korean War. Upon relocation to Saugerties, he was employed as a foreman for the cement companies, Alpha and Lehigh. A golf enthusiast, Andy was happiest on the golf course and earned a spot in the Saugerties Sports Hall of Fame for his athletic accomplishments. He was a member of the Sawyerkill, Rondout and Rip Van Winkle Golf Clubs. He was a member of the Saugerties American Legion Post #72 and the Saugerties Elks Lodge #2574. An all around handyman, Andy was skilled in carpentry, electric and welding. Survivors include his wife of 67 years June; children, Paul (Lynn deceased) of Maine, Wayne (Suzanne) of TX, William (Sonja) of NYC, Cheryl of Saugerties, Joseph (Denise) of NC, Patrick (Maria) of NYC and Michael Jasienowski of NYC and Andrea (Roy) Bell of Highland, NY; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step mother Lillian Legg Jasienowski; son, Andrew Jr.; siblings, Irene Argenta and Theodore and two nephews. His Funeral Service will be held 10 am Monday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette St, Saugerties. Interment with military honors will follow at the St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday.
