Anne Sheehan Obituary

Anne Sheehan KINGSTON- Anne Sheehan, formerly of West Hurley, died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Golden Hill Health Care Center. Anne or 'Doonie', as she was known by her family, was born on June 13, 1930 in Brooklyn and later moved to West Hurley, where she lived with her sister, Mary, for many years. Anne was an avid reader, a dog lover, especially of her 'Glory' and 'Sammy Jo', but above all, Anne loved her Lord and her family. For the past three and a half years, Anne lived happily at Golden Hill, where she made many new friends. Anne was especially fond of the caring nurses and staff who took such good care of her, as well as Judy, her friendly beautician. Anne is predeceased by her brothers, Patrick and Joe Sheehan, and sister Margaret Dowler. She is survived by her brothers John Sheehan of Staten Island and her sister Mary Rivera of West Hurley, as well as many nieces and nephews, who loved their aunt dearly. Friends may call at Lasher Funeral Home, 100 Tinker St., Woodstock, Saturday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shokan Wesleyan Church, Du Bois Rd., Shokan. Burial will be in Woodstock Cemetery.

Anne,
Although it has been decades since I last saw you, the memories flooded back as I spent the afternoon with your brother John and sister Mary and Peggy's girls. Everything they had to say reminded me of my sweet older cousin who use to come visit the dozen country cousins in Freeport. It was always a delight for me and my siblings to see the Sheehans drive up and spend the day. Your parents were so loving to us Boyle kids and we never forget that. May God Bless you and all the family you are now with.

John 3:16-18

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
