Carolyn Brady Obituary

Carolyn Brady SAUGERTIES- Carolyn (Carrie) Brady, 93, of Saugerties, entered into rest on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Kingston Hospital. Carrie was born in Brooklyn, on July 30, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Carolyn Dukeman Lynch. Carolyn was the loving wife to John Francis Brady when they married in March, 1944. She dedicated her life as an extremely loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who shared her love of traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. Carolyn is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Chance and her husband Tom, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Kathleen Johannesen of Cornwallville, and Joan Carbone and her husband Michael, of Bloomingburg; grandchildren, Janet Sullivan and husband Michael, Tommy Chance and wife Jean, Kathleen Justice and husband Charlie, Joyce Hogan, John Chance and wife Alyssa, Kevin Carbone and wife Carri, Michael Carbone and wife Marcy; and great-grandchildren, who referred to their great-grandmother as ‘Granny,' Ryan, Allison, Christopher, Erin, Grace, Casey, Tommy, Rowan and Michael. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition, Carrie was predeceased by her loving husband, John; son-in-law, Jan; siblings, Grace Logan, Margaret Garten, and Thomas Lynch. Visitation is at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Saugerties at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to either, Pine Bush Support and Enrichment Program, PBHS P.O. Box 700, Pine Bush, N.Y., 12566 or Lealman and Asian Neighborhood Family Center (LANFC), 4255 56th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, Fla., 33714. Mrs. Brady was our neighbor for a few years while we lived on Glenerie Blvd. She use to come to the fence by our yard and talk to our children everyday. Very sweet lady.
