Christine Kowalenko Obituary

KINGSTON- Christine Kowalenko, 75, of Kingston died on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Peter and May Johnson Kowalenko. In her free time Christine enjoyed reading, shopping, and playing games on her cell phone. She also loved her family and any time that she got to spend with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Christine is survived by her two children Jennifer Kammerzell and her husband Scott of Accord, Peter Millham and his wife Karyn of Poughkeepsie, and a sister, Linda Moon of Kingston. Christine is also survived by four grandchildren, Sandy, Shadow, Katrina, and Aaron, and three great-grandchildren, Atom, Noah, and Aurora. A niece, Kelly Keene and a nephew, Joshua Moon also survive. A graveside service will be held at Montrepose Cemetery on Friday, Jan.29, 2021, at 11 o’clock, with Rabbi Zoe Zak. Simpson-Hammerl Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Christine with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a charity of one’s choice in Christine’s name.
