Dorothy Calderon Obituary

Dorothy Calderon SAUGERTIES- Dorothy “Dottie” Calderon, 80, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Golden Hill Health Care Center with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on Aug. 23, 1933, in Coventry, England to the late William and Doris Holden. She married a U.S. soldier during World War II and moved to New York City. Ms. Calderon later moved to Saugerties where she has been a resident for over 20 years. She worked in the restaurant industry as well accounting for small businesses. She had the most generous loving heart and touched many lives. She was known by her colleagues and friends for her straight talking personality and timeless energy. She will be dearly missed by her beloved children, John Connolly (Saugerties), Cynthia Constable (Saugerties), Barbara Anderson (Phillipsport), Robert Connolly (Atlanta); her sister, Shirley Wykes; her nine grandchildren Christina, Crystal, Robin, Joshua, Christopher, Travis, Jennifer, Zachary and Jake; and her four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Paige, Madison and Declan. Dorothy was predeceased by her granddaughter Jennifer Connolly and her two sisters Margaret Halpin and Olive Sharpe. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. of John & Lafayette Sts. Saugerties. Her Funeral Service will begin at 6:30 pm.
