Ellen Essig Obituary

Ellen A. Essig WOODSTOCK- In loving memory of Ellen A. Essig of Anderson, N.C., formerly of 53 Rock City Road, Woodstock, N.Y., who passed away peacefully in her sleep April 28,2016. Ellen was born Aug. 26, 1941 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Edward Ross and Elsie Werner. She was a member of the Dutch Reformed Church in Woodstock and former organist and musician for the Junior Choir & Bell Choir. She graduated from Saugerties High School in 1959. Ellen had 53 years of service to the (past Rebekah Lodge) Clearwater LAPM & Queen Ulster #34 NYS assembly musicians, the Little Bears Theta Rho Girls Club, Bearsville, N.Y., and The Accordian Twins, with her sister Elsie Nicklaus. Her gift of music, love and faith in her religion was shared with everyone. Ellen is survived by her three children, Ellen ( Bruce), John and Edward; loving sister, Elsie and Bill Nicklaus; grandchildren, Kevin, Cory, Joshua, Steven & Jessica; and niece and nephew, Bill III and Wendy Hughes. A memorial service will be held at the Woodstock Reformed Church, Saturday, May 14, 2016, 2 to 4 p.m.
