Kurt was an awesome friend and had a kind soul. We became friend due to shared passion for weight lifting, the outdoors, and hunting. His parents are very kind people also, which is where Kurt got his kindness from. It is really strange not talking to him on a daily basis anymore, but I know he is looking down on us from heaven.

Kurt... I was so sad when I heard he had passed. I've known him for pretty much my entire adult life, and we've been good friends for about fifteen years. It's weird, knowing that I won't be able to call him anymore, or to get updates about his life quest for the best French onion soup. He's one of the few friends in my life who was really very supportive of my going to seminary, and I was always grateful for that. I was supposed to come out and visit this last summer... I regret that didn't happen. God willing, I'll see him again when the time comes. I sure hope there's good French onion soup in Heaven, or I'll be hearing about it! :) God love you all - he had troubles the last few years... but through it all, he knew he was loved. That's important. One day I hope to be able to say Mass in thanksgiving for his friendship.

My heart is filled with sadness, and I pray that our God will hold your son in His loving arms, peacefully as you did for him throughout his life. May He carry you and family and friends through your lives ensuring the wonderful memories of Kurt stay vivid in your mind~

I had the honor of working with Kurt when he was a student at SUNY Ulster. My heart broke when I heard the sad news of his untimely passing. I pray he is at peace, in the eternal house of our Good Lord. To his parents, I pray you find comfort in memories and you understand what a profound impact your only child had on those he met in his short yet meaningful life. I pray you find strength and our Good Lord blesses you both during this most difficult time and the days ahead. I pray for all of us, especially Kurt. God bless you and may Kurt's journey serve as reminder to each of us that tomorrow is not promised. I will never forget you Kurt.
