Mark Walter Stolte

Mark Walter Stolte, 57, passed away at home following a short illness on October28, 2021. Mark was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 28, 1963, the son of Walter John Stolte and Norma Stolte Lehmann. He grew up in Saugerties, was an Eagle Scout and a varsity athlete at Saugerties High School in wrestling, football, track and cross country. He graduated from SHS in 1982 and earned an Associate’s Degree in Water Quality. Mark made Palenville his home and held many jobs throughout his life, but his enduring favorite was as a ski instructor at Hunter Mountain. Mark leaves behind a lifetime of friends and a loving family. He is survived by his father, Walt (Joan Kaiser), mother Norma (Bob Lehmann), sister Alisa Lynn Stolte Heigl Jones, nephews Luther A. Helsel Heigl and Emerson Walter Jones, and his dear Friend and companion, Nancy Headapohl.All who knew Mark knew his heart belonged to the Catskill Mountains and HudsonRiver Valley. His spirit will reside here forever.
