Mary B. Hassell

Mary B. Hassell, 85, of New Paltz, died Monday, February 20, 2023, at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Island of Saba, Netherlands, she was a daughter of the late Jose & Annabella Hassell. At the age of seventeen, she gained employment at IBM in Kingston, NY and worked for the corporation for nearly 38 years. She rose through the names from secretary into management,and before retiring, was at the IBM Club. She enjoyed 30 years of retirement, traveling and enjoying life. Mary is survived by her son, Mark T. Howell of New Paltz and her sister-in-law, Judie Barnes of Jackson, MS. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her sister, Esther Hassell. The family will receive friends at the Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 South Putt CornersRd on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
