Edgar and Rosemary Villchur, 1990

It was such sad news to learn of Miriam's death; she was an intelligent and sweet lady, very accomplished and succinct as a writervery much in the vein of her famous father, Edgar Villchur. Miriam's blog on her family history was exceptionally well written and concise, detailed and very interesting, and her father would have been very proud of her work. Unfortunately, it was not finished.
Miriam was very thoughtful and helpful to me over the years, and we worked together on gathering the history of the Villchur family and Ed Villchur's work in acoustics. She will be greatly missed!

I am really very sorry to hear of this; too soon. Miriam was an eloquent and articulate custodian of her father's distinguished legacy and place in the history of science and business. We should all have such a child.

Although I have seen and heard Miriam perform a number of times with Woodstock Renaissance, read many of her Maverick concert notes and conversed with her at concerts there, the memory I'll carry with me the longest will be more recent. I've been lucky enough to be part of an ongoing women's song circle Miriam organized at her beautiful home within the last few months. I happened to be sitting next to her at the first gathering. Just as we finished singing the very first song -- I think it was the round 'Dona Nobis Pacem' -- I looked at her and saw the most beatific expression of complete joy on her face. It made me so glad to be there.
