1932 - 2022

Richard J. “Dick” Langton 89, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away February 19, 2022 from complications after contracting coronavirus. Visitation will be held Monday, February 28th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Meadowlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL 34652. Burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513 at 1:30 PM with procession departing from Meadowlawn at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, March 1st. Dick was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 5, 1932 and was predeceased by his parents John G. Langton and Barbara (Kaman) Langton, a brother Joseph, son James and half-brothers ’Jay’, Cliff and ‘Bob’ Langton. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn Thaler Langton and Children, Kathleen of Kingston, NY (Matthew Reis, wife Jennifer and son Cameron of Hamburg, NY and Dr. Michael Reis of Kingston, NY), Michael of Houston, TX (children Gabrielle and Garrett of Fredericksburg, TX), Gary (daughter Grace) of Tampa, FL, and Daniel of Roseville, CA (son Nicholas of Reno, NV) and his beloved Maltese, Princess Mia Sophia. Dick graduated from Kingston High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Army and was employed by IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie, NY for 39 years, most of those years in Human Resources as an International Assignments Representative. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, Chairman of the Town of Esopus Recreation Commission, a Cubmaster and active in the Town of Esopus Lions Club and Little League. Prior to his retirement in 1995, Dick lived in Kingston and Port Ewen, New York in the heart of the Hudson Valley, which he fondly called his ‘Heavenly Valley.’ During his 27 years in New Port Richey, he enjoyed year-round golf and became an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and was thrilled for the Super Bowl victories. He was an enthusiastic golfer and RV traveler and enjoyed doing home and yard projects and helping his friends and neighbors.
