Rodney Taylor Obituary

Rodney Taylor ROSENDALE- Rodney Taylor, 69, of Rosendale, N.Y., passed away at his home Oct. 1, 2018. He was born in Mt. Vernon Feb. 23, 1949 a son of the late John and Irene D. Scott Taylor. Rodney was no longer married at the time of his death but is survived by his former wife Beverly White-Webb, who he remained friends with. He lived to see another three generations; his children sons, Sean Taylor, Ahmed Taylor and Angelo; daughter, Khadija Taylor-White; and step-daughter, Sonja Smash. He has 11 grandchildren: Bath-shebae, Sh’myra, Asha, Nanyamka, Aiyana, Zhane, Joshua, Aseante, Avery, Johara, and Leandro; and six great-grandchildren: Elijah, Malia, Xavier, Lauren, Anaya, and Jabri. He is survived by his two brothers, Lamont Taylor of Coxsackie, N.Y., and Gordon Taylor of California, and sister-in-law, Dancing Water Taylor. He is also survived by nieces, a nephew, and many first and second cousins. A brother Kenneth Taylor died previously. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. Pastor Valerie Greenaway will officiate. Calling hours for family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Cremation was held privately.
