Dad it's been 2 yrs already and just seemed like yesterday..miss ya every day big guy. It's the holidays as I write but nothing seems festive anymore without hearing your voice or chowing down for hours on holiday food. I miss ya very much. Ill be down to the house and grave in the upcoming weeks since I haven't been down since you past as it would have been tough. But I'm gonna stop by and talk with ya for a while big guy. We love and miss you.

Today on Ron's birthday, I want to take a moment to honor this wonderful man. 14 years ago, Ron welcomed me into this family as his daughter in law with open arms and that huge genuine smile that we all know and love. He has been like a father to me and I love him so very much. He's the only person in the world who was allowed to call me Kimmy and it made me smile each time he called and greeted me that way in his big booming voice. To say that I miss him is an understatement. There is now a hole in our lives that will never be filled. I speak to him every day just to tell him he is missed and loved and to thank him for being such a wonderful presence in my life. Sleep well you dear sweet man. Happy birthday now and always. I love you. Save a place for me because I will be there to see you and hug you again one day. Until then..... Kimmy

RON BRAVO SR. was truly the Man, the Myth, and the legend! Having been good friends with Ron Jr and Brian, Ron was like a second father to me. So many good times with him and his family at my home and theirs.

Ron had a special gift of bringing people together and having a good time. Young and old, shy and outgoing, old friends and new friends that you were meeting for the first time. Ron loved everyone, and had a way of making people feel safe and welcome.

How many tough, grown men did Ron convince to participate in a beer drinking contest, only to end up being fed a beer in a baby bottle while wearing a baby bonnet? Or couples to play pass the orange without using their hands? Or guys to dress up like ladies for a sexiest lady beauty contest? Or teenagers to let their guards down and be themselves? Or little kids to leave their parents´ side and play with other unfamiliar kids?

I was an impressionable pre-teen when I met Ron and his family. He had an impact on me becoming the person I am today, inspiring me to see folks from all walks of life as equals. The way it can warm your heart to bring a smile to someone´s face. To volunteer and help others. And perhaps most importantly for me, not to take yourself so seriously.

Rest in peace, you big Ham, and know that you have left behind a wonderful legacy of Love and Laughter.

Love,
Rich Jr, aka "Father Richard"
