ANDREW MILLER Obituary

Andrew J. Miller, 48, of County Route 75, died Tuesday, August 17, at Baystate Medical Ctr., Springfield, MA, after battling an infection for the past month. Born in Troy, July 31, 1962, son of Andrew and Nancy Carriero Miller of Mechanicville, Andy was a 1980 graduate of Stillwater Central School. Working with his dad, Andy became a custom cabinet maker, and was proprietor of the Cabinet Doctor of Mechanicville. Andy was a fun loving guy who enjoyed his camp and family and friends gatherings at Schroon Lake and Minerva in the Adirondacks; enjoyed fishing and golf and all things of fun and enjoyment. An avid NY Yankees and Giants fan, Andy was a member of the Stillwater Men's and the Mechanicville Fire Dept. bowling leagues. The element of speed was in Andy's blood, whether it was riding on his Harley, his truck, or his snowmobile. A member of the Eastern Snowmobile Racing Assoc., Andy had won a number of racing titles over the years. A member of the Sons of the American Legion of Mechanicville, physically, Andy was a big man all his life, but size never was a deterrent to him doing what he wanted. Survivors in addition to his parents include his two sisters, Charlene (John) Landry of Mechanicville and Karen (David) Giroux of Cohoes; adored nieces, Jennifer (Rick Carbone) and Melissa (Jeffery Scherl) Landry; and grand-niece, Arianna, along with his faithful canine companion, Baby; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul Church, No. Main St., Mechanicville, with burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of New York, 99 Troy Road, East Greenbush, NY 12061, in loving memory of Andy Miller. To the Miller Family. We did not know Andy but have met Andy, father at his sister and our sister-in-law's house when Pep (Dave) died. We have heard Charlotte talk about her family so much that we almost feel that we know all of them. So sorry to hear about Andy's death. It is always sad to hear that a child has died so early in life. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Another 10 years has passed since we gathered to celebrate our last class reunion. The Class of 1980 may have one less in number, but the heart and soul of such a gentle giant will live on forever. We will miss you Andy Miller. Your kindness and ability to make people laugh is your legacy. To his family, our sincere sympathy for your loss. May you find strength in Andy's smile as you carry on.

My heart is heavy over the loss of your brother/son. There aren't any words that will make this any easier just know that I am here for you. Andy was such a fun loving person and so full of life that it is hard to believe that he's not with us any longer. The NY Yankees are going to go all the way again this year and he'll be smiling and jumping up and down. Just keep those fond memories closest to your heart. What a wonderful family you have and I am thankful to know such a fantastic group of people. Keep smiling for Andy!
