Betty Jane Ruggiero

Betty Jane Ruggiero, 76, most recently of Glen Avenue, Scotia, NY, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Ellis Hospital of natural causes. Born September 9, 1932, to the late Earl and Leona (Snell) Letts, Betty was a lifetime area resident, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Scotia. She was a fund raiser for the American Cancer Assn. (Past). She was also the Co. President of Mohawk School PTA (Past). Betty was married in 1953 to Justin Ruggiero. Besides her husband, she is survived by her sons, James Ruggiero of Scotia, Lawrence Ruggiero of Alexandrea, VA and Daniel Ruggiero of St. Charles, IL; daughter, Susan Ruggiero Davenport and her husband, Brian of Pattersonville, NY; and grandchildren, Justin J. Ruggiero and Kalyn Ruggiero both of Scotia. Services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at the First Reformed Baptist Church of Scotia, 132 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY. Interment will take place in the spring in Maple Shade Cemetery, Scotia, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Scotia, 132 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.
