Christine Johnston Obituary

Christine M. Johnston, age 63, of Poplar Drive, Delanson, passed away on October 24th, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Harold Young and Joan (Andrew) Dwyer; her sisters, Ginger ("Itch") Atchinson and Sandy (Webb) Lewis. She is survived by her children, Michelle (Christopher Mahoney) Johnston and Jason (Alethea) Johnston; her grandchildren, Cooper and Quinn, brothers William (Kim) Young, Mark Young, and sister, Leona "Nona" Young, numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family. She was a woman of many passions and skills. She was proficient in photography, sewing, and woodworking crafts. She was a voracious reader and with her never-ending quest for learning and love of gardening, she pursued a degree in Horticulture at SUNY Cobleskill. She excelled in her studies and graduated a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She was also a longtime business owner and enjoyed giving back to the community whenever possible. The family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at Fredendall Funeral Home at 199 Main Street in Altamont on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
