Darlene Pittman Obituary
Darlene is survived by her daughter Tamara Kittrell (James) and son Jaymar Dorsey (Robyn), as well as her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Rose Gibson, Cynthia Carter, and Jean Pittman, as well as her brothers Odell Pittman Jr., Roger Pittman Sr. (Rhonda), Jesse Pittman Sr., Jan Pittman, and Darryl Pittman Sr. (Vickey), brother in law Thomas Polak and sister in law Sheila Herring (Pittman). Her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as close friends and clients, will cherish her memory.
A faithful member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, Darlene drew strength from her faith throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Odell Pittman Sr. and Mary (Watkins) Pittman, her brothers James Pittman, William Pittman, and Earl Pittman, and her sisters Deborah Pittman, Jane Isaac, and Theresa Polak, and sister in law Joyce Pittman.
Darlene's loving nature, dedication to helping others, and strong sense of community will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and love that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 14th, 2023, from 10:00 to 12:00, with a repass to follow from 12 p.m.to 2 p.m., at Mt Olivet Missionary Baptist Church 1068 Park Ave, Schenectady.

I just learned today of Darlene´s passing. I extend my sincere condolences to her family. As a native of Schenectady, and a contemporary of Darlene, my family and I had ties with her and her family spanning many decades. In fact, in my grandmother´s later years Darlene was a caretaker for her and I am sure that there were many reminiscences of my grandmother´s close relationship with some of her family members. Be comforted in knowing what a good and genuine person she was as a mainstay in our community where she dedicated her life in service and commitment to others that did not waver. May God be with you and comfort you at this difficult time and may he bring you peace in the days to come.
