Donald Adamczyk Obituary

Donald Adamczyk Niskayuna - Donald Adamczyk, of Niskayuna, NY, formerly of Somerset, Piscataway and Bayonne, NJ, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 3:50 p.m. at Ellis Hospital after a long struggle with the complications of cancer treatment.
His partner and son were at his side. Don was 75 years old. Born in Bayonne, NJ, he was the only child of Stanley and Josephine (Pierce) Adamczyk, both deceased.
He retired in 2020 from his lifetime passion and musical career as a guitar and bass player, organist, singer and song writer The final 15 years, he performed all over New Jersey and the tri-state area with his life partner, Melodie Somers, in the musical duo of Somers & Steel. He was a joyous entertainer who "lit up the room with his smile."
He also had a 30-year career in real estate, most recently in Martinsville, NJ, while raising his son with his ex-wife, Karen. He was a beloved man of integrity, humor, kindness and joy.
He is survived by his Life Partner, Melodie Somers, his son, Daniel Adamczyk, his ex-wife, Karen Adamczyk, his cousin, Martin Pierce and many friends, former colleagues and fans of his music and uplifting personality.
Relatives and friends are invited to call and share memories of Don, Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Gleason Funeral Home. Additional services will be held in Dunellen, NJ on June 15, at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Avenue.

I am truly sorry for your loss. It´s hard to find the right words when faced with such devastating loss, but I pray the memories of the love shared between you provides some measure of peace and comfort, and the sorrow you feel in your heart be lightened by the love that surrounds you.
