Frank Giaquinto Obituary

Frank Mario Giaquinto, 37, of Schenectady, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 3, 2021. Frank was born in Niskayuna, NY on May 23, 1983, the son of Frank A. and Althea S. Giaquinto. He was a 2001 graduate of Broadalbin Perth High School, received his Associates Degree from FMCC then transferred to SUNY IT in Utica, NY. Frank was employed by Spectrum in Schenectady in 2007. He held multiple positions most recently as supervisor within the mobile customer service department. Frank enjoyed his work and was respected and loved by many of his colleagues. He was well known for his one-liners and antics during Zoom meetings that helped keep the mood light when needed. Frank had many interests including a lifetime love of reading, which resulted in possessing more books than he had shelves for. He had an eclectic group of friends that he gathered through school, travel, gaming and work. These friends were central to his life. He enjoyed travel and was able to visit many different countries and cultures. He competed in a regional card competition in Rochester, NY where he won 1st place and a trip to Berlin, Germany to compete in a world competition. In high school he was nominated to participate as a 'People to People Student Ambassador'. The student group traveled to England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. When at FMCC he studied Chinese and traveled in a small group with his professor to China. As a youth, he was an active member of DeMolay and as an adult he participated in a local chapter of Toastmasters, International. He will always be remembered for a great sense of humor, easy-going nature and ability to make friendships with whomever he met. Frank Had a loving family life. He will be terribly missed, especially by his nephews. He is survived by his loving parents, Frank and Althea Giaquinto of Scotia, NY, his sister, Teresa Williams and her husband Kevin, of Gloversville, NY, nephews Cole and Zachary Williams, aunts and uncles, Maryann Dingman (Buddy), Ellsworth Simpson (Karen), Jim Simpson, Cheryl Simpson and many cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, Frank and Lucia Giaquinto of Amsterdam, NY and Jack and Marcella Simpson of Fultonville, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday May 8, 2021 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. A celebration of Frank's life will take place immediately following at The Rockton House, 34 Lyon St., Amsterdam. Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607.
