Geni Semione Obituary

Geni (Jennie) Semione, 83, passed away at home on Saturday, October 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of Liberato and Angelina DiCarlo Adinolfi. Jennie graduated from Nott Terrace High School and retired from the Glendale Nursing Home, after many years of service. She will be remembered above all else for her love and devotion to her family. Her husband of 61 years, Louis A. Semione, passed away on June 12, 2014. Jennie is survived by two sons, Louis M. (Ann) Semione of Schenectady and David (Renae) Semione of Niskayuna. Her stepson, Robert (Fern) Semione of Black River, NY; five grandchildren, Christopher Semione, Daniel Semione, Sara Semione, Ryan Semione and Jenna Semione; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Noah and Jacob Semione; two sisters, Rose (Harry) Paston of Las Vegas and Angela (the late Thomas) Cenzano of Schenectady; two brothers-in-law, Arthur and Joseph (Yolanda) Semione, both of Gloversville; and two sisters-in-law, Gloria (Robert) Perrella and Elizabeth Grich, both of Gloversville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Jennie was predeceased by her sister, Eugenia (the late Jesse) Martell; and her brother, Fred (June) Adinolfi. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the staff of Community Hospice of Schenectady, especially Stephanie Hildebrandt and JoAnn McNulty. A calling hour will be held Wednesday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jennie's memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
