IMMACULATA O'LUCCI Obituary

Immaculata "Mabel" O'Lucci, age 100, of Johnstown, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, after a brief illness. She was born on December 8, 1910, in Gloversville, a daughter of the late Angelo DeCicco and Elizabeth DiMaio DeCicco. Mrs. O'Lucci was employed as a glovemaker at the former Louis Meyers & Sons, Inc., Elmer Little & Sons, Inc., and Gates Mills until her retirement. Mabel was a founding member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, a member of the Immaculate Conception Rosary Society, Lady Sodality of the Blessed Mother, and Catholic Daughters. She most recently attended Holy Trinity Parish of Johnstown. On November 2, 1936, she was united in marriage to Peter Thomas O'Lucci, and he passed on April 7, 1960. Survivors include one sister, Amelia DeCicco of Gloversville; two sons, Pat (Louise) O'Lucci of Johnstown and Gene (Dottie) O'Lucci of Saratoga Springs; four grandchildren, Peter T. O'Lucci of Johnstown, Joseph N. O'Lucci of Gardner, Kansas, Matthew J. O'Lucci of Fonda and Gaia B. (Richard) Anderson, Jr. of Wilton; great grandchildren, Candace O'Lucci, Makala O'Lucci, Olivia J. Anderson and Richard Anderson III; and many cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by one brother, Nicholas DeCicco; sisters, Josephine DeCicco and Marguerite DeCicco; and a nephew, Angelo DeCicco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Catholic Charities of Fulton & Montgomery Counties, 4 Nicholas Street, Johnstown, New York 12095.
