James Rinella Obituary

James A. Rinella, 64, died peacefully in his sleep, Tuesday, January 29, 2019 after a long illness. Jim attended Niskayuna schools and was a professional painter for nearly 40 years. Jim had a kind heart and a very pleasant nature which he shared with his family and friends. His favorite place, for his entire life, was the family's summer camp in Sacandaga Park, NY. He will be dearly missed by his siblings, Michael Rinella of Niskayuna, Vincent (Maria) Rinella of North River, NY, Susie Imgruth of Niskayuna, Judy Rinella, his twin, of Clifton Park and Toni Arnold of Clifton Park. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. There will be a Memorial Mass and a celebration of his life this summer at Sacandaga Park, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady or Catholic Charities of Schenectady.

Jim was the finest buddy a teenage girl could have asked for. I will never forget his sixteen year old self taking my precious Levis and returning them a couple of days later, beautifully embroidered. Running back into him through the years was always a special treat. This world would be that much sweeter and kinder with a few more Jimmys. Never forgotten.

Summer '73 Jimmy & I set off on a westward roadtrip. Destination: the promised land (California). He didn't bring any shoes (it was summer). We didn't make it all the way but the attempt was transformative. RIP, buddy.

Jimmy was the type of guy who would call you out of the blue just to let you know he loved you. I'm so sad I wont't be getting that call again. I love you too Uncle Jimmy.
