Janet L. Hopkins

Janet L. (Martomoli) Hopkins, 66, of Niskayuna, died suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2017. Janet was born in Schenectady and graduated from Niskayuna High School in 1968. She was employed for 35 years as a Billing Bookkeeper with the law office of Donahue, Sabo, Varley and Huttner, working part time for the last three years. Janet would make everyone feel right at home no matter where she was. She loved going to the Racino in Saratoga, hanging out with friends, gardening and cooking. She was an animal lover. Janet loved her pets, and they loved her, you could tell. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Britta Seastrand Martomoli; and her brother, James Martomoli. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Donald A. Hopkins; her son, Vincent R. Hopkins; her brother, Paul M. (Donna McCreesh) Martomoli; and sister, Carol (Kirk) Bodenstab, all of Niskayuna, nephews; Justin J. (Ashley) Bodenstab of Niskayuna and Christopher R. (Hannah) Bodenstab of Arizona; great-nephews, James C. Manley and Nathaniel Bodenstab; many cousins; and her close friends, Judy Dutt and Claire and Don Kieft. Family and friends are invited to a calling hour on Friday morning from 9 to 10 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Women's Cancer Care Center at St. Peter's Hospital, 319 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
