John W. Allen

John W. Allen, 96, of Schenectady, passed away at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs on Monday, August 6, 2018.Born in Salem, NY, he was the son of the late Elliott and Elizabeth (White) Allen.John served his country in the Army during World War 2. He was the owner and operator of Allen's Confectionary in Schenectady. John was also employed for several printing companies around the area. He was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.He was predeceased by his wife, Adeline (Sienka) Allen; one daughter, Amy Baltazar; two brothers, George Allen and James Allen; as well as one sister, Mary Linedoll.John is survived by four daughters, Beth Kost (John) of Schenectady, Cathy Devine of Charleston, SC, Dawn Ferrier (Robert) of Gansevoort, NY and Elaine Gregorie (Daniel) of Goose Creek, SC.
