Joseph Mauro Obituary

Joseph A. Mauro, 74, of Schenectady passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Schenectady on February 17, 1947 a son of the late Joseph and Julia (Krawiec) Mauro. He graduated from Colonie Central High School and served in the Army National Guard. Joseph was employed as a machinist for General Electric in Schenectady for over thirty years until his retirement. He loved cars, especially antique cars, NASCAR, going to the beach with his wife, Joan and spending time with his family. Joseph will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Joan; his son, David (Michele); 2 grandsons, John and Jason; his sister, Marianna Maffeo; his brother, Ralph; 2 nieces and 1 nephew. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St, Schenectady, NY 12304. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stanford Heights Fire Dept., 2240 Central Avenue Schenectady, New York 12304 in Joseph's memory.
