Joyce F. Gibbons

Joyce F. Gibbons, 80 passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Albany, NY on August 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Orzolek) Zobre. A lifelong resident of Scotia, Joyce attended Scotia-Glenville High School until transferring and graduating from Linton High School with her beautician's license. She went on to work at Gemmette'sHair Salon until she started her family with her high school sweetheart and husband, Frederick "Fred". Later, Joyce owned and operated a child daycare center in her home until her retirement.

Joyce was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was the center of Joyce's world and her greatest joy. Holidays and family events with Joyce were always filled with great food, old family movies, and tears of laughter around her dining room table. A talented gardener, Joyce enjoyed flower gardening and sitting on her deck watching the hummingbirds return each year.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Arleen Corino, and brother-in-law, Joseph Gibbons.

Survivors include her husband, Frederick "Fred" Gibbons; sons, Frederick A. Gibbons, Jr. (Allison) and James J. Gibbons (Stacy Mirabello); daughter, Christine Angley (John); grandchildren, Tara Angley, Kailyn Rendigs, Joseph Angley, John Angley (Jacklynn), Joshua Gibbons (Hannah Buckey) and Shannon Gibbons; great-grandchildren, Knox Rendigs and Jack Angley; sister, Lois Schrader; dearest friend, Cecilia Dillman; sister-in-law, Patricia Gibbons

and a host of nieces and nephews.

As per Joyce's request, there will be no services.
