June Bowler Obituary

June Bowler Ballston SpaJune Bowler, 73, of Ballston Spa, lost her battle with complications arising from heart surgery on Tuesday, October 29, 2013, in Ellis Hospital. June grew up in Fonda, NY, born to Joe Long and Dorothy Olin Long on May 30, 1940. She married Ken Bowler, also of Fonda, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his passing this January. Her brother, James Long; and sister, Lona Koss also predeceased her. June worked as a teaching assistant in the Ballston Spa School District, helping hundreds of students learn all the things they didn't care to learn but needed to graduate. Without her efforts, Saratoga County would be short a large portion of its municipal staff. She volunteered at Birthright in Ballston Spa and anywhere else she felt needed to be properly organized. She enjoyed travel, dragging Ken on long and rambling excursions that he grumblingly loved. She played in many golf leagues at many courses over the years. But her primary focus was to keep her family stuck together. June is sorely missed by her son, John Bowler and his wife, Debbie of Malta; her son, Christopher Bowler of Greenfield Center; her grandson, Marcus Bowler; and her sister, Virginia Carpenter. A celebration of her life will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, November 4 at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Online remembrances may be made at www.armerfuneral home.com.

Dear John , Chris and family,
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. I worked at Malta Avenue with her for many years and had the pleasure of her expert advice on the golf course with a group from school. She was a positive and caring woman. I will keep you all in my prayers during this time of grief for your family.
