Kenneth Harrington Obituary

Kenneth R. Harrington Schenectady Kenneth R. Harrington, 89, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on Monday, January 26, 2015 with family by his side. Born in Schenectady, Kenneth was the son of the late Arthur and Minnie (Schaffer) Harrington. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and a US Navy World War II veteran, Kenneth worked as a wood pattern maker at the General Electric Co. for 22 years before his retirement in 1984. He served on the Supervisor's Committee for Pattern Makers and Foundry for 18 years and had served as president and treasurer of the Pattern Makers Association. An avid fisherman, golfer and bowler, Kenneth loved golfing at Stadium Golf Course where he made a hole in one. He also bowled several perfect games in his bowling leagues over the years. Kenneth was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Weber) Harrington; as well as his brother, Robert Harrington; and his sister, Beverley Craig. Survivors include his daughter, Ann E. McCauley (Jim) of Galway; grandchildren, Jennifer Carusone (Craig Spoth), Maria Oakden (Robert) and Joseph Carusone; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Maxwell, Emma, Bentley, Devon and Tyler. A prayer service will be held on Friday, January 30th at 9 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, followed at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, where at Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will take place on Thursday evening, January 29th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will military honors will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth's memory can be made to the Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305. Dear Ann and family
I am so very sorry for your loss. Kenny will be missed deeply by so many. He was such a great friend and confidant to me for many years. I met him at Stadium golf club and he made me feel so comfortable and welcome from day 1 and from there such a loving friendship was born. He was loved by everyone he met. Kenney meant what he said when he called you friend..May he rest in peace now in God's kingdom
