Louis Schuttig Obituary

Louis J. Schuttig, 67, of North Main Street, Central Bridge, died Wednesday, June 7th at his home following a brief illness. Louis was born June 2, 1950 in Schenectady, NY, a son of Louis and Elizabeth (Skoff) Schuttig. He graduated from Amsterdam High School and later, enlisted in the US Air Force where he served in Thailand during the Viet Nam war in security. Upon his honorable discharge, Louis began a long career with General Electric and Knolls Atomic Power (Bechtel) in Niskayuna working as a Plumber and Steam-fitter. He was a former member of the Central Bridge Fire Department and the Plumber Steamfitters Local #128 in Schenectady. He and his wife enjoyed traveling especially out west seeing the mountains and canyons. Louis had a strong work ethic, enjoyed reading and puttering around the house. Survivors include his wife, Donna (Hill) Schuttig, whom he married May 8, 1971; his three children, Dennis Schuttig of Middleburgh, Daniel (Christina) Schuttig of Central Bridge and Amy Schuttig of Central Bridge; three grandchildren, Denise Woodman, Katelynne Schuttig and Madelyn Schuttig. A private service for family will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Louis to Catskill Are Hospice, 542 Main Street, Oneonta, NY 13820. The Langan Funeral Home of Central Bridge and Schoharie and the Robert A. Guffin Funeral Home of Cobleskill are assisting the Schuttig family. Dear Schuttig family
I worked with your Dad and husband for over 25 years and he was a wonderful person . No job was too big or small to do. We would have great talks about everything and great ones about his trips out west. God Bless your family and Lou .
