Lydia Ann McDonald

1928 - 2023

Lydia Ann (Giordano) McDonald, 95, passed away with family by her side on April 3, 2023. Lydia, the daughter of Sabbath and Josephine Giordano, was born on February 16, 1928. On June 11, 1950, Lydia was united in marriage with Arthur McDonald Jr. She was a Health Education Teacher at Linton High School (now Schenectady H.S.), where she touched the lives of many students. Lydia was predeceased by her husband Arthur, her parents, her brothers Arthur and Jonathan Giordano, her sisters Ruth Cordes and Adeline Eichholtz, Son-in-law Ernie Lotano, and her granddaughter Lily Grace McDonald. She is survived by her children: Carol Lotano, Arthur III (Nancy), Nancy, John (Beverly), Robert (Renee), and Thomas (Dana) McDonald; grandchildren: Daniel (Katie), Michael, and Christopher Lotano, Jennifer (Doug Braim), JT, Caitlin, Evan and Ella McDonald; great-grandchildren: Avery, Ashley, and Wesley Lotano.

Services will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 2216 Rosa Road, Schenectady, NY. Interment will immediately follow at Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lydia's name may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation, 310 S.
