Martha Virginia Marra

Martha Virginia Marra (Ginny) 93, of Rexford, NY, passed away peacefully 6/20/2023, of natural causes at The Glendale Home.

Born 01/07/1930 in Mechanicville, NY, Ginny grew up in Hemstreet Park where she resided with her parents Martha and Harold Lane and two siblings, Carol (Lane) Slocum, and Harold Lane. Ginny graduated as Class Valedictorian from Mechanicville High School in 1947 where she began dating Ralph M. Marra their junior year and recently celebrated their 76th high school reunion. In 1952, Ginny married Ralph, celebrating their 71st wedding anniversary in February 2023. They resided in Rexford, NY for 67 years after building their home in 1956. Ginny was an accomplished tailor and seamstress, competed in many sewing contests and modeled her designs. She was also a bookkeeper, served many years as a La Leche League leader, and was very active in the Alplaus United Methodist Church.

Ginny very much enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and quilting. She loved making gifts for her family and friends.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her spouse Ralph M. Marra of Rexford, NY, three children: Susan Fortney (Tony) Clifton Park, NY, Robert Marra (Becca) Rexford, NY, and Tracey Robilotto Orlando, FL. Seven grandchildren: Nikki Mastropietro (Matt), Chris Andriano (Jackie), Lane Robilotto (Brittany), Rachele Koegl (RJ), John Marra, Gabbie Robilotto, and Dana Fortney. Ten great-grandchildren: Gianni Mastropietro, Luca Mastropietro, Ben Koegl, Andriana Mastropietro, Gemma Andriano, Oliver Koegl, Theo Koegl, LJ Robilotto, Eli Robilotto, Enzo Andriano, and number eleven (Koegl) due later this year, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery, at a date to be determined. Contributions, if desired, could be made to Community Hospice or the Alplaus United Methodist Church.
