Michael E. "Mick" Chaskey, 57, of Albany, NY, and formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away suddenly on July 6, 2010, at Elizabethtown Hospital in Elizabethtown, NY, after enjoying a day on Lake Champlain. He is survived by his fiancee, Kathleen Remer of Albany, NY; four children, Nathan Chaskey and wife, Erica of Athens, GA, Kimberly Toedtman and her husband, James of Princeton, NJ, Joshua Chaskey of Buford, GA, and Carter Chaskey of Niskayuna, NY; a stepson, Matthew Remer of Eugene, OR; three grandchildren, whom he cherished, Madden, Sylvia, and Zachary Toedtman; four brothers, John Chaskey and Diane of Burden Lake, NY, Thomas Chaskey and his companion, Terry Caron of Plattsburgh, Dr. Harold "Skip" Chaskey and his wife, Erin of Plattsburgh, NY, James Chaskey of West Chazy, NY; and a sister, Patricia Holcomb and her husband, Richard of Plattsburgh, NY; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive him; and his favorite dog, Baxter. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Dear Chaskey Family and Friends.
We are deeply sorry for the loss of Mick. He will beyond a doubt be missed. We first met him many years ago at our son'(s) soccer games. However over the years our paths have crossed at many social gatherings. I have to say he always was pleasant, kind and ready for a laugh. His time with us was too short and his memory will be cherished. May his enjoyable spirit will always live in our hearts.
Peace, Love and Blessings

To all of Mick's family, We are so sorry to hear of Mick's tragic passing. Our whole family loved him dearly. He was one of our favorite Siena friends and waited all year to see him at Bellstock, it won't be the same without him! Jack, I send you my strength, you, too mean the world to me. Our prayers to all his children and family. Jim, Joleen, Seth and Eden Roe

Mick always greeted me with love, laughter and then we would proceed to talk about the kids, sharing tales and stories of what they have been up to during the past year. We will keep the candle burning and toast one to Mick at Bellstock. Keeping you in our hearts forever and always...Embrace the signs...Joleen
