Norma Eoff Obituary

Norma T. Eoff, age 95, died peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Norma was born in Gloversville, NY to the late Norman and Marion Tibbetts. She was a graduate of the former Nott Terrace High School and spent most of her life in Schenectady and Glenville, NY. She worked in the Data Bureau at the General Electric Company, as a secretary. She then joined her husband in the operation of the family owned business, as the long time bookkeeper for The Photo Lab, Inc. in downtown Schenectady which has been in existence for the last 104 years. Today the business is run by the third generation, her son John Eoff. She continued to work at the business as a sales person and bookkeeper as recently as last week.Norma was a modest and caring person who loved her family and Catholic faith above all. She enjoyed winters in Florida with her husband and summers at the family camp on the Great Sacandaga Lake. She was an avid reader and lover of animals.Norma was predeceased by her husband, Beverly, who died on the same month and day in 2004. They had been married for 61 years. Norma was also predeceased by her sisters, Jean Tibbetts, and Nancy St. Lawrence, her brothers-in-law, David Meraner and Marcel St. Lawrence.She is survived by her dear sister, Sally Meraner of Glenville, NY; her daughter, Elizabeth Morey (Ronald) of Las Vegas, NV; her son, John M. Eoff (Marie) of Rexford, NY; her four grandsons, Jason Morey of Portland, OR, Arron Morey of Franklin, MA, Kalen Morey, of Portland, OR, and Eric Eoff, of Northborough, MA. and also two great-granddaughters, Fiona Morey and Olivia Morey. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union Street Schenectady, between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018. A Mass will be held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Route 50 in Glenville, NY at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 2. Burial will follow at the Saratoga National Cemetery, where she will join her husband.In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Animal Protection Foundation, 53 Maple Ave., Glenville, NY or the charity of your choice.

I am sorry we never made it next door for a visit. But glad we got to chat with her a little here and there when walking bye. She was a very sweet lady and the first neighbor to come say hello when we moved in last year. So sorry to the family for your loss.
