Patrick F. Walsh

Patrick F. Walsh, 83, passed away surrounded by his family on March 20, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.

He was born on July 8th, 1939, in New York City to Irish immigrants, John and Nellie Walsh. His family moved to Albany, NY when Pat was a young child. He graduated high school from Vincentian Institute in Albany in 1956. He earned his degree in Accounting from Siena College in 1960 and later earned his CPA certification. In 1962 he married Joanne Cardillo and since 1971 they have lived in Clifton Park.

Patrick worked as an IRS agent from 1960 to 1969. During his time at the IRS, he was a visiting professor teaching accounting classes for two years at the University at Albany. Pat also worked at Cluett, Peabody in Troy from 1969 to 1989 as the Assistant Treasurer-Director of Taxes. He was also a member of the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants). In 1989 Pat founded his own private practice which he continued until his retirement in 2000.

In his free time Patrick enjoyed gardening (especially his tomatoes), reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching the New York Giants, and spending time by his pool.

Patrick was predeceased by his parents John and Nellie, his brother Thomas, and his sister, Sister Mary Ann Walsh.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanne, and his five sons, Patrick (Karen), John (Nimi), Daniel (Paola), Matthew, and David (Stephanie). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Andre, Aiden, Quigley, Lillia, Kashi, Erika, Rebecca, Taylor, Trent, Trevor, and Nora.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 to Noon on Friday March 24, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2001 US-9, Round Lake, NY 12151 with a Funeral Liturgy celebrated at Noon. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
