Mr. Mackinnon, you will be greatly missed. I so admired your history and story sharing, and thoroughly enjoyed your writings. You made a difference to so many of us. I truly will miss our chitchats on social media. Rest easy Mr. Mackinnon. There is no one else like you.

The picture is perfect capturing Dick's impish smile to perfection. I knew Dick as Mr. IBM Cambridge Scientific Center. He made that place a success for IBM and everyone knew Dick and he was the place to go for information there. He will be missed.

I was fortunate to be associated with Dick in the Field Systems Center as we worked to resolve customer problems and concerns related to hardware, software, and applications. His energy and intellect were pivotal to avoid any escalation beyond the boundaries of the Northeastern Region. I was also a partner with him in climbing a mountain in Maine, traversing the wilderness of newly released technologies, and repairing the gaps of clarity in introductory and educational materials. Here again, his extraordinary skills and attributes allowed for always pleasant and productive outcomes. Analytical, insightful, solution oriented, and collaborative. He was an unforgettable and incandescent personality. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to your family. I did not know Dick personally but looked forward to reading his always entertaining and detailed FB posts about Schenectady, such a wealth of information and great stories. He was a treasure who will be missed. RIP Dick

I celebrate the life of Dick MacKinnon and express my sincere condolences to his family and friends at his passing. I was most fortunate in having Dick as a mentor at IBM. I can't imagine a better role model and teacher. We had many rewarding successes together and weathered many challenges. Dick always seemed to know the best way to deal with both situations. I will miss him greatly.
