Robin Buff Conway, age 64, passed away suddenly at her home on September 3, 2018.Born on March 21, 1954 in Schenectady, NY, Robin was the daughter of the late Dr. Jason and Alice (Buff) Tepper. She was married for more than 39 years to her beloved husband, William S. Conway. She is also survived by her loving children, Dr. Jason Conway and Meredith Conway- Nix (Brett) as well as by her grandson, Austin Conway Nix, and her siblings, Susan Eve Tepper LeClair and Eric A. Tepper (Patricia) and several nieces and nephews.Robin was regarded by all who knew her as a loving and caring person who was always there to help out friends in need-people and animals alike. Robin was committed to making a difference in her community. She was a volunteer for various non-profit organizations and a strong advocate for animal rights. She was a 1972 graduate of Linton High School in Schenectady and a 1976 graduate of the University of Vermont. She worked initially as an admissions officer at SUNY Delhi where she met the love of her life, Bill, who at the time was a professor at the college. They moved to Columbia, MD in 1980 when Bill took a position as a plant pathologist with the US Dept. of Agriculture. Robin worked for many years in the hospitality industry. She also worked as an independent caterer and as an animal care provider.A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Columbia Jewish Congregation Meeting House, 5885 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, MD. Shiva will be held at the Meeting House Thursday evening at 7 p.m. There will also be calling hours on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Conway residence, 6321 Tamar Drive, Columbia, MD 21045.Contributions in Robin's memory may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Queen Anne's County, 201 Clay Dr., Queenstown, MD 21658.
