WE MISS YOU, UNCLE ROY CANNICE. WE LOVE YOU AUNT EULIE BERTHA! The Cannice Family
Peter Cannice
March 31, 2010
Dear Aunt Bertha,
My name is Peter Cannice and I am the youngest Son of Philip R. Cannice and Domenica "Minnie" Cannice. I went online to look for something on AMAZON.COM and typed in my our last name. The entry that came up was the Obituary for my Uncle Roy. I have no idea how this will reach you or if it ever will. Just know that I enjoyed Uncle Roy and my BEAUTIFUL and VIVACIOUS Aunt Bertha.Although we moved to Arizona when I was pretty young, my memories of you and Uncle Roy stand out.
As you know, my Mom and I took great care of my Father, Philly, until he passed. Unfortunately, my health was so poor from my back surgeries that I could not FLY to New York for the actual Wake and Funeral Services. I was on the phone most of the time, however it really was sad to be here in Arizona and alone.
Thank you for being so wonderful to my Father and to my wonderful Mother, Domenica. I miss everyone, especially Nanny and Grandpa (Elva and Stanley) Cannice and thank GOD for great memories of both of them. I think it's an honest opinion to say that you are one of the MOST ATTRACTIVE and SWEET and CARING relatives I have left. I wish I was there or wish you and other family could come to Arizona.
My memories of Nanny coming to Arizona, many years ago, were incredible. She, like yourself, made all of us happy and laugh. You are the woman who would light up the room, no matter where or what it was.
I hope and pray that you are healthy and happy. I will continue to pray for Uncle Roy and for YOU as you are SO missed. As you know, my Dad was quite fond of both you and Uncle Roy. At the end he didn't even recognize my Mom and I who were with him around the clock for over 4 years. But in that time he became my very best friend in the world. My Dad was a very good man and had a great heart. I regret that I didn't recognize all of his love and qualities until he became ill with Alzheimer's Disease. However, the end of our story was fond. He truly DID become my very best friend and I almost collapsed when they drove away for the last time. That was a blessing from God. A lot of hard work during tough times, but that's what we do for family. My concern is "Who the heck is going to take care of me and NOW?" (smiles)
God Bless You, Aunt Bertha. And God Bless all, especially Aunt Marilyn and family and the remaining CANNICE FAMILY! Happy Easter 2010!
If anyone knows how to contact my Aunt Eulie Bertha Cannice in Schenectady, New York, my birthplace, please pass this on to her from her Nephew, Peter Vincent Cannice in Phoenix, Arizona. It would mean the world to me to communicate with her and to let her know that she is loved by me and so many-perhaps she can contact me by email or post. HELP, SCHENECTADY GAZETTE!
Sincere Love and Admiration. And sincer appreciation for what you said so lovely about your Husband and my Uncle Roy Cannice.
